300th Anniversary of Annapolis

Annapolis will commemorate its 300th birthday with a yearlong celebration in 2008. When Queen Anne of Great Britain granted the city charter on November 22, 1708, she established the first lasting democratic representative process in Maryland and made Annapolis the only town in America that was ever chartered by the sovereign.
